About

Welcome to the DeskPRO blog!

It seems everyone and their dog has a blog these days, and we thought it was about time we got in on the action. We hope to shed some light on the goings-on of DeskPRO and put a more human face on the company as a whole.

If you don’t already know, DeskPRO is software aimed to be your complete support solution. DeskPRO is one of the most feature-packed customer relations management tools available today featuring everything from an extensive ticket system to a full knowledgebase application. We think that no matter what kind of setup you have in mind, DeskPRO will be able to satisfy your every need. For more information on DeskPRO and it’s features you should check out our features page.

About the Authors

Other members of the DeskPRO team may pop in from time to time, but we’ll give you an little back story behind the two people who will be blogging most.

Christopher Padfield, Lead Developer, CEO of Headstart Solutions

Chris started the whole thing back in 2001. Without him, you wouldn’t be reading this today and many companies would still be looking for a support system that doesn’t suck. He’s 25 years old and lives all over the place. Chris loves to travel and has been to places most of us only dream of going, from Japan to Sydney to Hawaii to New Zealand — the list goes on. When he finally settles down he likes to pursue some of his hobbies. Chris loves photography, loves to ski and likes to cook (you’re a great cook, Chris, honest!).

When Chris’ sights focus on DeskPRO, the fabric of our universe trembles. Bugs are killed as if by an exterminator and new features are imagined and set into motion. He has influenced just about every aspect of DeskPRO, and has raised the status-quo for all CRM products.

Christopher Nadeau, Developer

This Chris joined the DeskPRO development team in July of 2006 and has been pumping out code like a machine ever since. He is 19 years old and lives near Toronto, Ontario in Canada. He’s been developing web applications for years and has particular expertise in PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and Javascript. He is a Zend Certified Engineer and is proud of it! (We once heard him say “I wear Zend boxer-shorts” and none of us are completely sure if he was joking.)

Outside of work, Chris likes to do anything he finds relaxing. He’s an avid IRC-chatter and Skype-talker, but away from the computer he enjoys just hanging out with friends, relaxing in front of the tube, or reading a good book. He loves geeky things and will eagerly enter any conversation about the next Apple product or rumors about the next version of PHP. When asked which movie, book and CD he’d take to a desert island he chose The Matrix, A Wheel of Time and his iTunes library (he claims that’s only bending the rules a bit).
